Tim Elafros has been in the accounting and income tax industry since graduating from Southern Illinois University, including time with a couple of national CPA firms in St Louis on the ‘tax side’ of the practices. After spending 8 years serving tax clients, reviewing investment strategies and the effects of asset allocations, and reviewing and coaching clients about their estate planning documents, he decided to expand his services by getting licensed in the industry that focuses on facilitating investment management services.
Tim started his investment services working with what is now known as Plaza Financial in Clayton and catered to senior management clients who had been displaced through corporate downsizings and were referred to the firm through Outplacement Firms. Tim left Plaza and started working with Drake Beam Morin (DBM), Lee Hecht Harrison, and Right Management coaching their clients through the process of transitioning their careers and exploring their financial options.
Tim met with Krilogy and was impressed with the quality and quantity of research and analytical tools they employ as well as their attitude toward service and cooperation. Most recently Tim was a senior advisor with Advisor Group, formerly an AIG company, before joining Krilogy.
Tim is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Tax Section and the Personal Financial Planning Section of the AICPA. In 1999, Tim passed the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) examination. In 2005 he became a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), and then in 2007 Tim passed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® exam. In 2012, Tim earned the designation as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).
