In the Community – May 2015

In 2014, Krilogy was honored to receive the American Heart Association Fit Friendly Gold Recognition, a designation which recognizes employers’ exceptional efforts towards promoting a healthy workplace. On Saturday, May 9th, we furthered our commitment to healthy workplace and partnership with the American Heart Association, forming a Krilogy Team called “Krilogy Has Heart” for the organization’s annual Heart Walk.

Heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases are the Nation’s number one and number four killers, claiming more than 813,000 lives each year. The American Heart Association Heart Walk is among its major fundraisers, raising over $1,000,000 each year to help prevent, treat, and defeat cardiovascular diseases. The event promotes physical activity and heart healthy living, and celebrates those who have made lifestyle changes to become more active and healthy.

25 Krilogy team members, friends and family joined the Heart Walk, which began and ended at Busch Stadium. The “Krilogy Has Heart” team has already exceeded their fundraising goal, raising over $3,000 to date with nearly a month to go in the campaign.

“ At Krilogy, we believe in promoting health and wellness, and participating in activities that encourage healthy lifestyles,” said “Krilogy Has Heart” team captain, Jaime Shelton. “When we received the American Heart Association Fit Friendly Gold Recognition, we knew we had an opportunity to do more to support the organization, raising money and awareness to help combat the leading killers in the United States. Our team did an amazing job, and we were honored to be part of such a worthy cause. ”

The 2015 American Heart Association Heart Walk has raised nearly $1,400,000 to date. For more information on the walk, or to support the “Krilogy Has Heart” team, please visit the team page on the Heart Walk website.
