In the Community – February 2017

2017 marks the second year for Krilogy’s community outreach program, Krilogy Cares. Launched in 2016 as a vehicle to invite teamwork and support of a local non-profit, our first year of Krilogy Cares program raised funds and volunteerism for our inaugural partner, Special Olympics. Special Olympics was nominated by Megan Lockhart, and chosen in a drawing at our January, 2016 Firm Meeting. We’ve gone through the same process this year, and are pleased to announce that this year’s partner is The Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry, nominated by Steve Green and Stacy Sloas! We look forward to working with Steve and Stacy throughout the year on various programs and fundraising initiatives.

Other organizations that were nominated for Krilogy Cares 2017 include:

Alzheimer’s Association
American Cancer Society
Brace for Impact 46
Dueling for Lincoln
Family Resource Center
First Tee of St. Louis
Great Circle
Humane Society of St. Louis

National Kidney Foundation

The Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry, established in 1991, provides food, personal care items and community resource referrals to help individuals and families through difficult times. They are dedicated to alleviating hunger among people of all faiths and backgrounds. The Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry currently serves over 7,000 people each month who would otherwise go hungry. The food pantry is staffed by a number of full-time employees but the bulk of the work is provided by 200+ volunteers, including Stacy Sloas, Steve Green and Jeff Schnitzer, all members of the Krilogy Financial team.

The food pantry distributes food and personal care items donated by individuals, local grocery stores, restaurants and the USDA. This organization is also partially funded by the United Way and the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. The Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry is located at 10601 Baur Boulevard, Olivette, MO 63132.

Steve Green and Stacy Sloas, Krilogy Financial Advisors, both serve on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Family & Children’s Service agency, of which, the Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry is one of the most important programs.
